Innovation Prizes 2009: poll is open!

Every year the Commodore-GG awards a software and a hardware innovation price at the last meeting of the year. This is a trophy made by one of our members.

The winner of the contest is chosen by a poll on our web site. On our C= Show of december 19th we will distribute the trophy to the winners!

The sixth annual World of Commodore Show will be held at the Admiral Inn Hotel in Mississauga (Toronto area), Ontario, Canada, starting at 10 a.m.. Come see the demos, vendors, and guest speakers in regards to new and innovative products for Commodore and Amiga computers. The WoC website is at

1541 Ultimate II news

Gideon Zweijtzer has released news about the 1541 Ultimate II. New
features are: the PCB is 30% smaller, there is a MicroSD card slot, instead of a full-size SD slot; a real-time clock is implemented for correct file time and date, it uses a larger FPGA which enables the implementation of more features, there is a USB host port which can be used to connect USB memory sticks, and the Ethernet port has been removed, due to design considerations and reliability.

He also has plans to make an suitable case for the device and is planning an initial run of 100 of the new version.  read more »

Netherlands C= Show - Saturday, Dec. 19

The last C= show of the year is upon us! It's the Netherlands Commodore Show on Saturday, December 19. As usual, the entrance is free! As usual, the location will be at the Trefpunt, Kerkweg 21, Maarssen, Holland from 10:00 until 16:00. As usual, there will be an Amiga scene, too, with a lot of Amiga computers present. As usual, there will be a big C= flea market. This time there will a C= "lottery with beautiful prizes". Also, prizes for the most innovative hardware and software creations of the last few years will be given out.  read more »

VCF East videos on the Web

BIOS has posted two videos of the Sept. 12-13 Vintage Computer Festival East 6.0. The first is a look at the activities which include an excerpt of the 8static Chip Tune Concert held there, a look around the exhibit hall at the various computers (including Commodore and Amiga), various attendees trying out Shredz64 (Guitar Hero for the C64), an excerpt from Evan Koblentz's talk on Computer Development and the U.S. Army Evans Signal Laboratory, the full presentation given by Bill Degnan on the evolution of local computer clubs in the 1970's and early 1980's, and more.  read more »

geoGlyph released

Sean Huxter has released geoGlyph, match-three-symbols game for GEOS (64 and 128) that runs as a Desk Accessory in 40-column color mode. It is a feature-rich game, including a timed and a No-Pressure game with a number of options allowing you to customize your play experience. It will save games and high score on quitting.

geoGlyph is free to distribute. The .d64 disk image also contains other games Sean wrote back in the late 80s and early 90s including geoMimic, HAZARD and geoComix.

Retro Game - Saturday, October 17

In lieu of its bi-monthly Commodore Show, HCC Commodore is having the Retro Game event on Saturday, October 17, from 10:00 to 17:00. Gaming, especially classic gaming, will be the emphasis of the event, which includes Atari, MSX, Vectrex, Sega, Nintendo, Commodore, Amiga, and more.

The location is the Trefpunt, Kerkweg 21, 3603CL Maarssen, the Netherlands.
