Offline Mail Reading News
As of 6 May 1999, QWKRR128 has been released under the GNU license and you are free to use and even develop it further if you like. The GNU license stipulates that Rod Gasson retains copyright on his program, but you can develop your own versions so long as you too release it under the GNU license and make the source code available. For a list of the source files and to view the licence, see the QWKRR GNU Licence information page.
Until recently many that would have enjoyed using an offline mail reader on the C= were stopped because the BBS they accessed only offered PKZIP 2.04g, which couldn't be dissolved on the Commodore. This has changed recently, as Errol Smith has created C64 and 128 unzip programs (unzip128v213.prg and unzp6421.prg) to dissolve PKZip 2.04g files. You can find more information about it at http://www.ros.com.au/~errol/unzip64v2.html.

In fact, I liked QWKRR so much, I married the programmer! :-)
