Video - Hamtext on the Commodore VIC-20
At the February Fresno Commodore User Group meeting, we had quite a demonstration of the rare cartridge, Hamtext, for the Commodore VIC-20 computer. Hamtext and its accompanying interface can take the signal from a ham radio transceiver and show the results on the VIC-20's monitor. Those results can be the translation of Morse code signals to ASCII (alphabetic letters shown on the screen).
I took a videocamera to the meeting and filmed a few minutes of the demo. That video is now on-line! Go to

Another video of Jim Butterfield posted
In addition to the video of Jim Butterfield at the LUCKI Expo 2005 found at
http://www.commodore.ca/gallery/video/video.htm
another one has been discovered. While rummaging around various Beta, VHS, Digital 8, and DV tapes, I came across a VHS tape that was given to me. Its label was printed, "Chicago Commodore Expo, October 24, 1998 - Jim Butterfield Tells a Commodore Story". I viewed the tape, and though the video quality is only fair, the audio is good, and of course, Jim tells a good story of the early days of Commodore.
That 16-minute video has now been posted! Go to read more »
