Next Netherlands Commodore Show - Sat., Dec. 20
The next Netherlands Commodore Show will be Saturday, December 20, at the Trefpunt, Kerkweg 21 in Maarssen from 10:00 a.m to 4:00 p.m. There will be a prize given for the most innovative hardware and software creation of the last few years. Amiga sceners will be there, demonstrating Amiga OS 4.x, in addition to the C= flea market, lottery, and workshop. For more information, go to

Jeri Ellsworth at U. of Applied Technologies, Oct. 14
On Tuesday, October 14, from 10:15 to 11:00 a.m., Jeri Ellsworth is scheduled to speak at the Institute of Embedded Systems, University of Applied Technologies, Vienna, Austria. Her presentation is part of the Gender Day '08 event, which also includes an exhibition, other talks in German, and a lunch. Though the target audience is pupils, especially girls from the age of 14, the general public is invited to this free event.

Jeri Ellsworth at VCF East 4.0
Last year CBM engineers Bil Herd, Dave Haynie, Bob Russell, and a teleconferencing Chuck Peddle gathered at the Vintage Computer Festival East 4.0 in order to honor 25 years of the Commodore 64. The CBM engineers had their talk on Saturday, June 9, and I was fortunate to be there. Dave Haynie combined his video and my video

SC3 Arcade Party on Sept. 27!
The SC3 Arcade Party comes around on September 27, 2008. Not only are there plenty of video arcade machines and modern consoles to play, there will also be Commodore and Amiga systems set up with games. Micropalooza '08 this Thursday and Friday!
The Ground Kontrol Classic Arcade (http://www.groundkontrol.com) has announced the return of Micropalooza, Portland, Oregon's first 2-Day Chiptune Music Festival! Chiptune music is made using video games such as the the Atari 2600, the Nintendo Gameboy and NES, as well as 8-bit computers such as the Commodore C64. Though more popular in Europe, Chiptune music is quickly catching on in the US. read more »

The bi-monthly show, held in Maarssen, the Netherlands, had an attendance of 50-60 persons this time. Co-organizer Ron van Schaik stated that attendance is higher in the winter months, because people want to be indoors.
The next Netherlands Commodore Show is Saturday, August 16.
